Hungary Coach Slams Flying Eagles

Hungary coach Bernd Storck has slammed the Flying Eagles for not making good use of the chances they created in their opening day loss to Brazil which inevitably hurt them.

The former Borussia Dortmund defender saw two different halves in the fixture that produced six goals and thinks the result wasn't a true reflection of the game.

"Against Brazil, Nigeria were at their best in attack because they had lots of chances and got into good areas to hurt them but for us I don't think we will be playing for just a point," he told the FIFA website. "The style of the game of my team that we play is very important and we will see what is possible.

"We want to make a good game, be very competitive and we will see what happens. We want to give them a big fright but I don't play just for one point."

"We will know even a draw against Brazil will heap plenty of pressure on Nigeria to make it out of pool play, especially if the African nation do not pick up three points against North Korea." he said in his pre-match conference.

Nigeria, runners-up in 1989 and 2005, need to beat North Korea in the early match on Thursday if they harbour hopes of progressing to the final 16.

They have only failed to progress to the knockout rounds twice in 10 appearances at this tournament. On the evidence from Sunday, they should prove too strong for North Korea who were strangely dis-organised in their defence against Hungary.
