Hungary Rally Back To Hold Iceland

Hungary and Iceland played out a 1-1 draw in a Group F tie at Euro 2016 in Marseille on Saturday.

Lars Lagerback's Iceland who held Portugal to a surprise 1-1 draw in their first game in the competition were two minutes away from securing their first ever win before they were pegged back by the Hungarians.

Gyfil Sigurdsson puts Iceland  ahead nine minutes before the break, while Birkir Saevarsson scored an own goal to hand Hungary a share of the spoils in the 88th minute.

Hungary started in the ascendancy but never really threatened their opponents.
It was Iceland who had the first real chance of the game in the 31st minute with Sigurdsson wasting the opportunity.

That let-off resulted in Hungary upping the tempo and a neat move was almost finished off by Balazs Dzudzsak.
Iceland took a shock lead in the 39th minute through Sigurdsson who converted from the spot.

Hungary failed to find an equaliser before the end of the first half and maintained their dominance after the break, while Iceland made little effort to get out of  their own half.

The pressure paid off for them as Saevarsson diverted Nikolic's low cross into his own net two minutes from time.
