Iceland Star Gudmundsson On Target As Burnley Hold Man City

Icelandic star Johann Berg Gudmundsson scored a late equaliser for Burnley who forced Manchester City to a 1-1 Premier League draw at Turf Moor in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Danilo scored the opener for Manchester City who have now recorded 22 wins so far in 26 EPL games.

The draw means Sean Dyche and his men are without a win in their last nine league games.

Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne all came close to getting on the score sheet in the first half but saw their efforts saved by Nick Pope.

Danilo curled in Bernardo Silva’s pass from 25 yards to beat Pope in goal for the opening goal. The strike was Danilo’s second of the season for Manchester City, equalling his return for Real Madrid last season in 17 appearances.

In the 32nd minute, Mee struck a close-range volley which was goal bound but Ederson did brilliantly to tip the defender’s effort around the post.

The Citizens continued their dominant start in the second half, but they were pegged back with ten minutes left Johan Berg Gudmundsson stabbed in the equaliser for Burnley.

Sterling missed a glorious chance to seal the win for the Manchester Cuity but missed from six yards.

Manchester City will face Leicester City in their next EPL game before taking on FC Basel in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
