Ideye Clinches Greek Title With Olympiakos, Kayode Scores Goal No.9

Brown Ideye’s Olympiakos claimed their 43rd Greek league title on Sunday after beating Veria 3-0.

Ideye, who was pivotal in the league success, was left on the bench for 90 minutes.

Olympiakos got their hands on the title with six games left to play.

Former Flying Eagles forward Olanrewaju Kayode was on target for Austria Wien but it was not enough as they lost 4-1 to Salzburg in the Austrian league.

Kayode scored in the 17th minute to make it 1-1 for Austria Wien.

He has now scored nine league goals in 23 appearances for Austria Wien.

Kelechi Iheanacho grabbed his first piece silverware for Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-1 on penalties to win this season’s Capital One Cup trophy.

Iheanacho was an unused substitute as City and Liverpool ended 120 minutes of football one apiece.

Nigerian youngster Alex Iwobi was a second half entrant in Arsenal’s 3-e away loss to Manchester United.

Iwobi replaced Danny Welbeck in the 83rd minute of the encounter.

In Spain Success Isaac was in action for 90 minutes as Granada defeated Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 away.

His Nigerian team-mate Uche Agbo was not listed for the match.

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun was in action for Mainz who beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 in the German Bundesliga.

Balogun saw action for 90 minutes.

In France Elderson Echiejile made an appearance for Monaco who forced Nantes to a 0-0 draw.

In the Serie A, Uche Mbakogu was in action for Carpi but didn’t score as they played 1-1 at home against Atalanta.

Mbakogu was on for 90 minutes in the match.

And in Belgium Wilfred Ndidi played for 90 minutes as his side Genk edged Club Brugge 3-2.

Anderlecht, with Imoh Ezekiel an unused substitute, were held 3-3 at home by Standard Liege.
