2015 Top Scorer Ighalo Signs 5-Year Watford Deal

Watford have shown they have faith in Odion Ighalo by giving the Nigeria striker a new five-year contract.
The promoted English Premier League club announced the deal on their official website on Friday.
Ighalo, who was inexplicably left out of the recent Super Eagles squad, has scored 17 times this year, more league goals in 2015 than any other player in the top four tiers of English football.
“The Hornets are pleased to confirm that Odion Ighalo has signed a new five-year deal at Vicarage Road,” the official Watford announced.

“The Nigerian striker, who has scored 21 goals in 42 appearances since signing for Watford in July 2014, has further committed his future to the club until 2020.

“Ighalo initially moved to Watford on loan ahead of the 2014/15 campaign, but that move was made permanent three months into the promotion-winning season after a successful start to life at The Vic.

“The 26-year-old saved his best form for the early months of 2015, scoring a remarkable 13 goals in nine fixtures at the start of the year, and he went on to find the net 20 times in just 22 league starts.

A Nigerian international, Ighalo opened his Premier League account with Watford’s second goal in a 2-2 draw at Everton on the opening day of the season.”

  • It really bugs my mind that Oliseh could not see what I was seeing when he invited unknown players. I must have made a horrible mistake by not heavily criticising him, perhaps he just might read the criticism and make amend. That away match with Tanzania was about the most important match, as winning it would have at least made us not leave sight of Egypt since they were leading and will play a day after us. They were at advantage since our result can spore them to put in more effort. Why fir goodness sake did Oliseh not invite the known hands. Ighalo, Moses, Mikel, Onazi, some locals. He missed the opportunity and look at where we are. Oliseh has lost my support.
