–After debut goal in Watford win
After scoring his first goal for Watford City in their 2-1 win over Brentford Tuesday night, former Flying Eagles skipper Odion Ighalo has stated that he hopes to score more goals for the Campionship side.
Speaking after the game, Ighalo who joined Watford on loan from Serie A team Udinese, said his desire is to make sure Watford’s objective is achieved.
“The more minutes I’ve played, the happier I’ve felt. As a striker, I want to score more goals and want to do well to help the team achieve its aim. I’m very happy”, the Nigeria star said on the club’s website.
“Brentford made it very difficult for us. There was pressure on us to win (after not doing so for the last two games), that is normal, the players were all saying before the game that we had to go out and get the three points.”
He pointed out that his first goal will motivate him to score more for the promotion-chasing club.
“I am really happy because I scored my first goal for the team.”
“It gives me more confidence to work harder and score more goals for Watford.
“I’ve come from a different league and I’m doing my best to adapt to the style in England. It is more physical, the tempo is high and you have to work hard all the time.
“It is difficult but I’m getting used to it and every game I’m learning.”
