Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo could have struck his eighth Premier League goal of the season but his superb curled shot hit the post as Watford lost 2-1 at in-form Leicester on Saturday.
Ngolo Kante and Jamie Vardy, who scored in his ninth straight PL match, gave Leicester a 2-0 lead before a Troy Deeney penalty reduced the deficit.
Also on Saturday, Manchester United defeated West Bromwich Albion who did not feature out-of-favour Super Eagles striker, Victor Anichebe, 2-0 in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
The highlight of the first half was the brilliant defensive tackle by former United defender Johnny Evans who went down to clear off atJesse Lingard’s feet.
Anthony Martial turned after a close control but the ball was deflected away from goal.
Juan Mata then curled his effort round the Albion post as he received a pass from Wayne Rooney.
But in the second United broke the deadlock. Lingard controlled from the edge of the box and placed the ball at the far corner after a miscued header from Chris Brunt who wanted to clear the cross by Martial.
Mata made it 2-0 via penalty in the 90th after Martial was brought down by Gareth Macauley when clean through on goal. Macauley was sent off.
