Odion Ighalo came close three times to scoring, while Isaac Success made a 15-minute cameo as the Nigerians' Premier League club Watford lost 2-0 to Championship club Queen Park Rangers in a pre-season friendly at Loftus Road on Saturday.
Sebastian Polter opened the scoring for QPR in the 20th minute before Conor Washington sealed the win eight minutes from full time.
Ighalo, who played the whole match despite Watford making eight changes, first went close in the 27th minute after cutting inside a defender and firing just wide of the near post.
The Super Eagles star then guided a free header over the bar after being set up by Ikechi Anya with a right-wing cross.
Ighalo was even more unclucky on the stroke of half-time as his effort from a Jose Holebas cross was cleared off the line.
Success, who joined Watford from Granada this summer, replaced wing-back Holebas in the 75th minute as the Hornets chased the game, but QPR held on.
