Watford have parted ways with manager Quique Sanchez Flores, the Premier League club confirmed on Friday.
Flores joined the club at the beginning of the season and kept the promoted side in the Premier League, largely on the back of goals from Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo.
But they have endured a spell of poor form lately and there has been speculation about Flores' future for weeks.
The club confirmed his departure in a terse statement on their official website, writing: "Watford Football Club can confirm that Quique Sanchez Flores will leave Vicarage Road at the end of the season following the Sunderland game this weekend.
"We would like to thank Quique. He and the team achieved the target set them at the start of the season of staying in the Premier League for a second year.
"Quique leaves with all our best wishes for the future and the knowledge he is always welcome at Vicarage Road."
