Nigerian midfielder Nosa Igiebor is determined to return to top flight football after parting ways with relegated Caykur Rizespor.
Caycur Rizespor terminated Igiebor’s contract on mutual consent in July after the club were relegated to the second tier of Turkish football, but the former Real Betis star is leaving no stone unturned to get a good offer elsewhere soon.
A source close to the player revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com that Igiebor could be heading for Scandinavia after talks with Antalyaspor broke down in July.
“Nosa has been hunting for another club since leaving Rizespor but his most likely destination would be in the Scandinavian even though he could join amother club in Turkey, but time is running out,” the source told Completesportnigeria.com.
Igiebor, who was in the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations title in Sputh Africa, joined Rizespor during the January transfer window on a three-and-a-half year deal after the club met the release clause that had been in his contract at Netanya.
He opted to move away from the club after the side failed to stay afloat in the Super Lig at the end the season.
He was offered jersey number 10 but struggled to tie down a regular place in Hikmet Karaman’s squad. The former Super Eagles midfielder played 13 games and scored one goal in the Sports Toto Super Lig last season.
