Iheanacho: Guardiola Has Brought Fresh Style To City

By Adeboye  Amosu: Kelechi Iheanacho says he and his Manchester City teammates are adapting to life under new boss Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard succeeded Manuel Pellegrini who guided the Citizens to a fourth place finish in the table last season as manager of the side.

And having worked closely under the tutelage of the former Barcelona coach for the past few days,  the Nigerian international reckoned they are getting to grips with Pep's style of play.

"Guardiola is a good manager, everyone knows that,'' the youngster who won the Most Valuable Player Award at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup told Sky Sports.

"He's bringing fresh thoughts and his own style. Everything  is different and everyone is adapting to what he is teaching us.
"We need to understand what he is telling us and what he wants to bring into the team."

Iheanacho had a season to remember last term scoring 12 goals in all competitions for City as he repaid the faith put in him by former boss, Pellegrini.

The 19- year-old  said he is grateful to the Chilean for the opportunity to showcase his talent at the highest level.
"He gave me that  chance to play in the first team and to come and show what I can do," he stated.
"I will always be grateful to him anywhere he goes and anywhere he is.

"I wish him good luck and I pray that he gets a good offer anywhere he goes. He is a great manager and he will continue to be great.
"Last season was great for me and there were some good highlights. Scoring my (first)  goal against Crystal Palace and playing Real Madrid in the Bernabeu, those were good feelings."
