KELECHI IHEANACHODespite his early struggles after his move from Manchester City to Leicester City, Kelechi Iheanacho seems to be getting his groove back.

Though Iheanacho has found it difficult to command regular playing time in the Premier League, he found joy in the Emirates FA Cup in January, as he has scored vital goals to help the Foxes progress.

Iheanacho kicked off the year as an unused substitute in Leicester’s 3-0 home win against Huddersfield Town in a Premier League clash on January 1st.

In the 0-0 FA Cup away draw against lower division club Fleetwood Town on January 6, Iheanacho was brought on with 10 minutes remaining in the game.

Once again in the Premier League, Iheanacho returned to the bench in Leicester’s 0-0 away draw against Chelsea on January, 13.

In the replay of the Emirates FA Cup against Fleetwood on January 16, Iheanacho was the hero as he bagged a brace in the 2-0 home win before he was replaced on 81 minutes.

His second goal against Fleetwood made history as the first goal to be decided by the newly introduced Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

For the third straight game in the league in January, Iheanacho found himself back on the bench as Leicester saw off visiting Watford 2-0 on January, 20.

But once again in the FA Cup, Iheanacho was the hero as he scored two goals in Leicester’s 5-1 away win against Peterborough on January, 27. He was later replaced on 80 minutes

And in the away league clash against Everton on January, 31, which Leicester lost 2-1, Iheanacho was brought in the 75th minute.

WILFRED NDIDIWilfred Ndidi has been one of Leicester City’s consistent performers and the month of January was no different from previous months.

And to cap a memorable month, Ndidi was on target in Leicester’s FA Cup win against Peterborough.

As usual, Ndidi was in Leicester’s starting line-up as they thrashed Huddersfield 3-0 at home in the league on New Year’s day.

In the Emirates FA Cup clash against Fleetwood, on January 6, Ndidi did not feature as he was one of his side’s substitutes in the game which ended 0-0.

Ndidi was back in Leicester’s first 11 on January 13 away to Chelsea in a league game.

In the FA Cup replay against Fleetwood on January, 16, Ndidi found himself back on the bench as Leicester cruised to a 2-0 win thanks to two goals from Iheanacho.

Against Watford in the league on January 20, Ndidi featured as Leicester won 2-0.

Ndidi, who had sat out Leicester’s previous FA Cup games, was brought on in the 64th minute against Peterborough on January 27 as the Foxes won 5-1. Ndidi was on target as he scored Leicester’s fifth goal after Iheanacho had helped himself with a brace.

The away game against Everton on January 30 which ended 2-1 to the home team saw Ndidi back in the first eleven for Leicester.

The IfeanyiUbah shot stopper has been a revelation for the home-based Super Eagles at this year’s Total Africa Nations Championship in Morocco.

His brilliant performances has further strengthened his chances of being part of the Super Eagles final 23-man squad for this FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Ezenwa kept goal in the Eagles’ first group game against Rwanda on January 15 but had little to do as the game ended 0-0.

In the Eagles’ second group game against Libya on January, 19, Ezenwa kept his second clean sheet of the tournament in a 1-0 win.

Against Equatorial Guinea on January, 23, Ezenwa kept goal and was brilliant in the Eagles 3-1 win which guaranteed qualification into the quarter-finals.

The game against Angola in the quarter-final on January,  28, turned out to be Ezenwa’s best for the Eagles at this year’s CHAN as he produced a string of saves to help his side to a 2-1 win. Ezenwa’s brilliant display against Angola earned him Man of the Match award.

Unfortunately, in the Eagles’ semi-final clash against Sudan on January 31, Ezenwa was stretchered off with an injury less than 10 minutes into the game. The Eagles went on to win the game 1-0.
