Ikande: UCL Lured Me To Bosina

Former Flying Eagles midfielder Harmony Ikande has admitted that the prospect of featuring in the prestigious UEFA Champions League lured him to Bosina club FC Sarajevo.


FC Sarajevo face Polish side KKS Lech next Tuesday at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadion in the first leg second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League and the former AC Milan prodigy admits it is a competition he dreams of playing in.

"It's an opportunity for everyone to see me well and know what I can do," he told completesportsnigeria.com from their pre-season camp in Slovenia.

"That's part of the reason that I joined and I love the reception here."

"I'm very happy to have signed and I hope that I will justify the expectations of my new club." 

Ikande who has been assigned jersey number 70 signed a one year deal with an option of another also dreams of a chance of playing for the Super Eagles.

The 24-year-old who has played for AC Milan, Budapest Honved (Hungary), Beiter Jerusalem, Hapoel Ashkelon and Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel is expected to feature in his side's friendly against FK MLADOST DK Friday evening.

The encounter will be their last warm up game before they take on KSS Lech next Tuesday and it remains to be seen ifi he will feature for the Bosnian champions.

Sporting Director of FC Sarajevo Abdullah Ibraković revealed that the club is working on Ikande's residence and work permits ahead of his expected official debut against Dzenana Uščuplić.
