Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has vowed to shame his doubters by proving his mettle against top African and world opposition.
Ikeme told Complete Sports in reaction to insinuations that he cannot stand the test against big African and world opposition stated that he is good enough to face the best teams and players in the world.
"I am here because I am good and I have done well since I made my debut," the Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper told Complete Sports.
"I disagree with those who say I have not really kept against big opposition and that I cannot cope when we face such countries. I will prove myself when that time comes.
"Having played the likes of Congo, Cameroun and Tanzania, I don't think anyone will brand these countries as minnows in African football. Those games were tough and I think I did well and thes occasions."
The Wolverhampton Wanderers FC second choice goalkeeper hinted of his resolve to prove his doubters wrong by exceling for both country and club, adding that all it takes to get there is hard work.
He said that he knows why he was relegated to the bench at Wolves, adding that he would resolve that in due course but for now he is working hard to retain his form.
