Madura United Brazilian striker Thiago Furtuoso says his partnership with Nigerian forward, Peter Osaze Odemwingie, will see them score a lot of goals in the course of the season, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Odemwingie, 36, is Madura United’s leading scorer with 13 goals in 18 league games so far this season.
He was in action for Madura United who were held to a 1-1 home draw by Persija on Monday. It was his fourth straight game without a goal.
The former Lokomotiv Moscow, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke player is second in the top scorers chart in Indonesia, four behind leader Sylvano Comvalius (17 goals) of Bali United.
And Furtuoso who joined Madura United from another Indonesian first division club Bhayangkara in July, hailed Odemwingie’s style of play.
“Peter is a player with speed. I just practice with Peter for four days,” Furtuoso told Madura United’s official website.
“Going forward, our partnership will definitely produce many goals,” Furtuoso reiterated.
Madura are currently third with 36 points in the league table, just two points adrift of leaders Persipura Jayapura after 20 rounds of league games.
