Oghenekaro Etebo has been ruled out of Nigeria U-23s Rio 2016 men's football quarter-final clash against Denmark on Saturday due to injury.
This was revealed by media officer of the team, Timi Ebikagboro, on his Twitter handle on Saturday morning.
The match kicks off at 8pm Nigerian time.
Etebo, who is Nigeria's top scorer with four goals, was stretchered off in the U-23 Eagles' 2-0 loss to Colombia in their last group game on Wednesday.
Ebikagboro also revealed that Junior Ajayi is now available for selection after recovering from the injury he sustained during camping in Atlanta, USA.
"Medical team rule out Etebo from quarter-finals but will be available if team progresses to semi-finals, Junior Ajayi available for quarter-finals," Ebikagboro tweeted.
"Ajayi has been absent from all the games played so far in the Olympics due to an injury he sustained while team was camped in Atlanta.
"The medical team have been satisfied with his recovery and have given him the go ahead to return to action."Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
