Benin Arsenal secretary plays down Cerezo’s exit ahead Giwa clash Insurance of Benin believe they will not feel the absence of their technical adviser, Augustine Eguavoen when they clash with Glo Premier League side, Giwa FC, Jos today at the Ilorin Township Stadium in one of the Round of 16 Federation Cup games.
Eguavoen who is fondly called ‘Cerezo’ by his admirers, dumped the Benin side who pride themselves as ‘Arsenal’ for Gombe United, a Glo Premier League side a couple of weeks ago.
Charles Ihimekpen, secretary of the club reckons that they will try to keep the flag hung by ‘Cerezo’ before his departure flying in their push for a quarter final ticket in this year’s Federation Cup.
“He (Eguavoen) started this assignment before he left so we are only going to ensure we won in order to keep the legacy he left behind for us”, starts Ihimekpen who is called ‘Chico’.
“As for reeling over his absence, I must say no. Rather, we’ll be motivated to fire from all cylinders. Life goes on.”
