Aarons Set For Loan Exit

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has hinted Rolando Aarons will be sent out on loan before the end of the January window. Former England Under-20 international Aarons recently returned to St James’ Park after spending the first half of the campaign on loan at Czech Republic outfit Slovan Liberec, where he made 12 league appearances.

The 23-year-old has been training with the Magpies’ Under-23s since coming back to the north east and there are reports claiming he could be involved in Saturday’s FA Cup third-round clash at home to Blackburn Rovers.

Speaking about the winger’s immediate future, Benitez, who has left than six months remaining on his deal, suggested Aarons will be sent out on loan for the second time this season.

He told the Chronicle: “Aarons has been on loan and we must now find the right place for him. He has to play every week. He has to have minutes.”
Achraf Lazaar, who saw a summer switch to Genoa fall down at the last moment, is also expected to leave the club in January after failing to make an impact since arriving in 2016.
