Abraham Makes Chelsea Pledge

Tammy Abraham has set his sights on fighting his way into the Chelsea first-team and is hoping Frank Lampard will be in charge next season. The talented striker has yet to be handed a real chance at Chelsea and has been sent out on loan to the likes of Bristol City, Swansea and last season, Aston Villa, who he helped win promotion to the Premier League.

However, the England under-21 international could get more of a look in next season due to the club’s current transfer ban and he is determined to grab any opportunity that may come his way. Lampard is also on course to be named Chelsea’s next manager, and Abraham believes his arrival would also be a boost to his chances.

“Yeah, if it was Lampard to take over the job. I believe in myself and there is no better guy to play under as well,” said the 21-year-old, who scored 26 times on loan for Aston Villa last season. “He’s someone you have grown up watching and has been at Chelsea forever. Like I say, he knows about me as well – I played against his [Derby] team in the Championship play-off final!”
