Adams Aims To Keep Progressing

Tyler Adams is adamant that he is not going to rest on his laurels after enjoying an immediate run in the RB Leipzig first team.

The 20-year-old only joined from his native New York Red Bulls in the American MLS in the January transfer window, but he was handed his debut in the 4-0 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf and retained his place for the following two matches.

Leipzig assistant manager Jesse Marsch knows all about Adams’ qualities given that he coached him at the Red Bulls before moving to the Bundesliga last summer.

And that will no doubt have been key in him being fast-tracked into the team following his arrival, although Adams insists that there is room to improve if he is going to reach his full potential for both Leipzig and the USA national team.

He told Bundesliga.com: “It’s definitely surreal to a certain extent. “Of course, when you see how fast everything has come, at the end of the day I don’t really see it as a pat on the back, I just want more of it and I want to continue to get better.

“At the end of the day I know people are going to talk about ‘OK, you’ve had a good game here’ but I also know I’m going to have bad games and those are the ones that I know I’ll have to realise I need to improve on and at the end of the day I just want to get better.”
