Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold insists Sunday’s win over Everton proves his team can challenge Manchester City for the title. The Reds looked set to draw the Merseyside derby with their rivals at Anfield before a late error from Jordan Pickford gifted them the win.

Divock Origi was on hand to head home from close range with the last action of the game and the win allowed Liverpool to remain two points behind the Citizens.
Jurgen Klopp’s side now have 10 matches in five weeks and Alexander-Arnold insists his side can stay with their title rivals.
He told Sky Sports: “It’s important for us to stay in the game. Keeping a clean sheet gives us the foundation to go and do these things. “I think we’ve shown with PSG at home and then Chelsea away and now Everton – three times this season – that something that we’re doing is staying in games and then producing in the last minutes.”
