Arsenal Agree Carrasco Terms

Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with summer transfer target Yannick Carrasco. The Gunners are planning a summer overhaul under Unai Emery and Carrasco could be the first deal they get over the line. Carrasco is currently contracted to Chinese club Dalian Yifang but is looking for a fresh challenge after just five months in Asia.

The Belgium international Carrasco, was linked with Arsenal in January but the north London outfit decided to sign Denis Suarez instead. Suarez is now back in Barcelona after an injury-ravaged season and that has allowed Carrasco to agree a contract with the Premier League giants.

However, talks between the two clubs have yet to finish and Arsenal chiefs now need to agree a fee with the Chinese outfit in the coming days. Dalian have refused to let Carrasco go on the cheap although the former Atletico Madrid man has already confirmed his desire to leave.

He told Belgium’s Nieuwsblad over the weekend: “Negotiations are going well. I am aware that I am an important player for the team but I hope the chairman understands and they let me leave. “From a personal and family point of view, I would like to return to Europe and stay closer to my family. The adjustment for my family was also difficult over there. I have become a lot more mature and have learned a lot. Also on the field, where I had to take more responsibility. But my wish now is to return.”
