Arsenal Target Still Dogged By Injury

Arsenal target Kieran Tierney is still being dogged by a pelvic problem and the Celtic player won’t be fit to play for another month. Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that the left-back’s injury problems aren’t yet over as he continues to suffer pain from inflammation around his pubic bone.

Tierney, who has been linked with a big-money summer switch to the Emirates Stadium, underwent an operation on a double hernia at the start of the summer. His surgery went well, but the 22-year-old has been feeling discomfort from his long-term Osteitis pubis problem – restricting his ability to train.

“KT is still having problems with the pubic injury, so we will need to get to the bottom of that,” Lennon said. “In terms of the double hernia, that’s all sorted now. But he’s still saying he’s a bit sore to start running. “I don’t think it gets any worse, but there’s just a constant dull pain there. Eventually. you can mature out of it. I have seen that. But right now, he still feels a lot of discomfort with it.

“The rest won’t do him any harm at all. I think he will benefit from it. We don’t want him to be out for too long but we need to get him right.” Celtic signed former Rapid Vienna left-back Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo too last month and he is expected to start the campaign as Lennon’s first choice.
