Arter To Stay With Bluebirds

Arter To Stay With Bluebirds

Bournemouth will allow midfielder Harry Arter to stay with Cardiff, despite reports Watford are targeting a permanent move.

The 29-year-old joined the Bluebirds on a season-long loan in August and has forced his way into the side on a regular basis as Neil Warnock’s men battle to stay up.

Bournemouth have a clause which allows them to recall Arter and reports claimed they have been pondering the possibility of exercising that option, with a view to selling him on.

Both Watford and Aston Villa are thought to have contacted the Cherries in this window regarding a permanent deal for the Republic of Ireland international.

However a deal looks unlikely at this stage as Bournemouth are happy for him to stay where he is.

A Cardiff spokesman confirmed the situation when saying: “There is a [recall] clause, which at the moment they are not exercising. Bournemouth have informed Cardiff City of that.”
