Atletico Madrid are keen to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Lucas Alario, according to the Argentina international’s agent. Alario has settled into Bundesliga life well after moving from River Plate in 2017, netting nine goals during his first campaign in the German top flight.

He managed four assists last term while he has 11 goals in all competitions in 2018-19, with Leverkusen currently fifth in the table and one of five clubs battling for the final Champions League spot in Germany. However, the 26-year-old has slipped down the pecking order in recent times, prompting speculation that he might be allowed to leave in the summer.
If Die Werkself do sanction a move then, according to agent Pedro Aldave, Atletico will be near the top of his list of suitors. “There are several prospects for Alario from Spain, one of which is Atletico Madrid,” he said.
