Eric Bailly is reportedly ready to demand a move away from Old Trafford following his latest snub at West Ham United.
The Manchester United central defender’s representatives have previously raised concerns at how unhappy they are at his perceived bad treatment since the end of last season, having mysteriously fallen down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.
Bailly was an unused substitute at the London Stadium for the tame 3-1 surrender to the Irons and is now on a collision course after his manager’s decision to instead select midfielder Scott McTominay at the heart of the rearguard.
Clubs in Spain have been monitoring Bailly’s situation and he is now ready to ask for a move away at the earliest opportunity.
The powerful 24-year-old was signed from Villarreal two seasons ago for £26m and appeared to be the answer to United’s ongoing defensive issues after a string of fine early displays.
Bailly, however, has had his injury problems and needs a decent run of games to produce his best form once again.
Rumours continue to circulate that Mourinho could be shown the exit door before much longer, should results not improve, but Bailly’s camp are understood to feel they need to reassess their own options for the sake of his career despite him being nicely settled off the field in Manchester.
