Balbuena Calls For Consistency

West Ham centre-half Fabian Balbuena says the team have reached the standards they need of late and now must work hard for consistency. In the second half of the defeat to Chelsea and for the whole of the unlucky loss at Old Trafford last Saturday, West Ham have been playing some of their best football of the season.

Now the Paraguayan centre-half Balbuena says they are the sort of standards they need to attain every week starting with the upcoming fixture with Leicester at the London Stadium. “We need to follow the way we have played in the second half at Chelsea and at Manchester United, with all the team running and trying to keep the ball to go forward and score goals,” he told the club’s website.

“We know that sometimes it is hard because the other team plays as well but we have quality in our squad to play well like we did on Saturday, so we need to keep working, keep strong and try to win the next game. “Hopefully I can score against Leicester again, like I did in the away game. I’ll work hard this week to try to arrive at that game ready to play and to win at home in front of our fans. We know it’ll be a hard match but we hope to win.”
