West Ham’s Fabian Balbuena has demanded his side continue to work hard as they eye a second straight win on Saturday at Huddersfield. The Paraguayan was one of a host of summer arrivals at the London Stadium and has established himself at the heart of the club’s defence alongside fellow newbie Issa Diop.
Despite the duo impressing, injuries and a lack of form have hindered the Hammers and there have been spells where Manuel Pellegrini’s job was even questioned.
Saturday saw the east Londoners end a run of four without a victory when they defeated Burnley 4-2.
Balbuena believes the performance was borne out of weeks of hard work on the training ground and has urged his side to keep putting in the hours to ensure they keep picking up points, hopefully on Saturday at the John Smith’s Stadium.
“We work every day and talk about the games and our training and we try to do our jobs well in every game,” he told the club’s official website. “Sometimes we lose but we will always try to do our best to win. “We must keep going, keep working and think now about the next game.”
