Barca Not Worried By Slow Start – Pique

Gerard Pique claims the Barcelona players are “not worried” about their slow start to the season after Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Osasuna. The 32-year-old central defender spoke out as Ernesto Valverde’s reigning champions made it four points from their opening three games.
Barca followed their 1-0 opening defeat at Atletico Bilbao with a 5-2 romp against Real Betis at the Camp Nou, but they are still waiting for their first away win after the trip to Pamplona.

Roberto Torres gave Osasuna the lead after seven minutes, but 16-year-old Ansu Fati became the youngest scorer in Barcelona history when he equalised on 51 minutes.
Arthur hit his first for Barca to give them the lead just after the hour, but a harsh handball decision against Pique gave Torres the chance to level from the penalty with nine minutes remaining.

Speaking about the draw, Pique said: “We are not worried. “It is not the desired start, but we know that this (season) is very long. “The important thing is to arrive in March or April with options to win the league. “We would have liked to be with nine of nine (points), but we are having more difficulties than expected.”

On the penalty, Pique added: “I hit it with my hand. But we always have meetings before the start of the season, and they talk about the distance between the ball. “It doesn’t give me time (to get out of the way) and I’m jumping naturally. “I would like that the referees will try to do it. For me, it is not a penalty.”
