Barcelona are reported to be showing an interest in Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal as they look to sign a new left-back. The Catalan giants just have Jordi Alba as the only natural left-back in their squad, following Lucas Digne’s summer move to Everton and Ernesto Valverde is searching for a back-up.
Reports now claim that a January swoop for Gunners defender Monreal could be on the cards, while Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno has also been mentioned as an option.
Monreal is currently getting a run in the Gunners first team while Sead Kolisinac is out injured but is likely to lose his place as soon he is fit again, with Barca said to be monitoring the situation.
It remains to be seen if Unai Emery would be willing to sell, but 32-year-old Monreal would no doubt jump at the chance to play for Barcelona at this stage of his career.
Valverde is looking for experienced players to add to his Nou Camp squad when the transfer window opens though and Arsenal are bracing themselves for interest.
