Barcelona are the latest big-name club to express an interest in Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele ahead of the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old France international has caught the eye with his performances for Les Gones since breaking into the first-team last season and is understood to be on the radar of top English clubs such as Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United.
City have had the chance to check on the defensive midfielder first hand in the Champions League, with Ndombele playing a starring role in Lyon’s win 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium in September and then in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw in France.
However, reports claim reigning Spanish champions Barca sent scouts to watch Ndombele in action against City and are looking to steal a march on their rivals by making a bid in the new year.
Lyon are holding out for around £70million for the player which would not be a problem for any of the clubs expressing an interest in him.
