Bayern Munich are stepping up their attempts to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodrigo. The 22-year-old, known as ‘Rodri’, has been targeted by the Bundesliga champions and Bayern hope to lure him to the Allianz Arena over the summer as boss Niko Kovac eyes a new defensive midfielder.

Some reports from Germany suggest Bayern have already tabled an offer to Atletico and are attempting to get him for slightly less than his 70million euros release clause.
It remains to be seen if Atletico will accept offers under that figure but Bayern are hopeful of getting a deal done for the Spain international at some point this summer, after his impressive in Spain this season. Rodri made 34 La Liga appearances for Atleti, scoring three times and managing one assist, while he also has six caps to his name for Spain.
