Bazoer Leaves Wolfsburg On Loan

Wolfsburg midfielder Riechedly Bazoer has joined Dutch side Utrecht on loan for the remainder of the season.

The former Ajax man was on loan at Portuguese giants Porto but after failing to make an impact there, his spell was cut short and he returned to Wolfsburg, who have quickly loaned him out again.

The 22-year-old, who reportedly had other options but wanted to work with Utrecht coach Dick Advocaat, made just three appearances for Porto, scoring once, and will now look to revive his fortunes at the Stadion Galgenwaard in the second half of the season.

Utrecht director of football Jordy Zuidam said on the club’s website: “Although he’s played more than 30 youth national team games, has been in the Dutch senior team and has dozens of games experience in the Eredivisie, Bundesliga and Portugal, plus experience gained in the Champions League and Europa League, he is still only 22.

“Everyone knows his potential and he is keen to show it at FC Utrecht again. Riechedly is a class addition and we are proud to have him as an option immediately.”

Utrecht have no option to buy the Netherlands international, who has six caps for his country, at the end of the deal and he’s expected to return to Wolfsburg in the summer.
