Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is convinced Yoshinori Muto will get better in the Premier League. The Japan international, who was signed during the summer, netted his first goal for the club in the 3-2 defeat at Manchester United a fortnight ago.

The 26-year-old cost Newcastle £9.5million, which was their biggest single outlay during the summer, but he has not featured regularly for the Magpies, with Joselu and Salomon Rondon the preferred options up front.
However, ahead of an important game against Brighton on Saturday, Benitez says the former Mainz striker will continue to improve with more game time this season.
“Muto is an overseas player,” Benitez told the Chronicle. “We expected him to make a difference and yeah he will.
“He has to improve his English but the understanding with the team-mates is there and his work-rate is magnificent.
“Every training session he is closer to starting games and hopefully he can give us what we need, which is a bit of pace and to be more dynamic in attack.”
