Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is under serious pressure following reports claiming Celtic manager Brendan Rogers is being lined up. Newcastle have struggled in the early stages of 2018-19, claiming just two points from eight games to sit 19th in the Premier League.
Benitez was left frustrated after a lack of backing in the summer transfer window and has been critical over the running of the club.
Reports claim Benitez could soon be sent packing if results don’t improve after the international break.
The Spaniard is now into the final year of his contract so it would not be too costly to move him on although the fans remain firmly behind the former Real Madrid boss.
And it’s understood Rodgers, who has made a poor start with Celtic is being lined up as a potential replacement.
