Real Betis president Angel Haro is optimistic about the club’s future and claims they are a “growing giant” in Spain. Los Verdiblancos have had an inconsistent start to the new La Liga campaign, collecting four points from three games, although their only win came on Sunday against derby rivals Sevilla.
Joaquin Sanchez’s late header sealed the three points and Haro is feeling positive that Betis will soon be challenging the likes of Sevilla and other top Spanish teams on a regular basis.
“Betis are a growing giant right now,” Haro told Radio Marca Sevilla.
“The future that awaits us appears to be optimistic and we are happy with how things are going, the aim is to continue to grow as a club.
“It is fantastic to enter the international break having beaten our eternal rivals, it is always a victory that makes Betis fans very happy.
“The difference between the two clubs is not as big as before, because not so long ago Sevilla had triple the budget of Betis so it was hard to compete.
“Now we want to achieve what Sevilla have achieved on the pitch in recent seasons along with the biggest clubs in Spain, that is our ambition.”
