Billing Move Edges Closer

Philip Billing has successfully completed a medical at Bournemouth ahead of his big-money transfer from Huddersfield Town.

It was reported at the weekend that the Cherries had agreed a fee in the region of £15million with the relegated Terriers for the Denmark Under-21 international. And, the 23-year-old, who worked his way through the youth ranks at the John Smith’s Stadium and has made 91 first-team appearances for the club, has been on the south coast finalising his switch.

With a fee agreed and medical completed, it now looks a matter of time before Billing is confirmed as a Bournemouth player. He made 23 Premier League appearances, scoring twice, last term but didn’t play since the 4-3 defeat at West Ham on March 16 after a fall-out with boss Jan Siewert.

Despite their issues, Siewert was keen to send his best wishes to Billing when quizzed about his impending switch to the Cherriers. He said: “I wish Phil all the best because he is a great player and he has all the attributes to be very good player in the Premier League.

“I have heard the deal is moving forward, so all the best to him.”
