Blades Join Race For Spanish Striker

Sheffield United are set to battle it out with a trio of Spanish clubs to sign Real Betis striker Loren Moron. The Blades are known to be in the market for attacking reinforcements and they have previously shown an interest in Brentford forward Neal Maupay.

However, boss Chris Wilder appears to have now turned his attention to Loren, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Betis despite establishing himself as a first-team regular last season.

United are not the only club said to be interested in Loren, with La Liga teams Espanyol, Osasuna and Granada – the latter two were only promoted back to the top-flight last season – all believed to be in the running.

Betis are certainly keen to move Loren on, which means the 25-year-old could be available for a cut-price fee even though he still has three years to run on his current contract at the Benito Villamarin. However, one stumbling block could be Loren’s desire to remain where he is, as he appears to be keen to stay and fight for his first-team place.
