Blixt Aims To End Weekend Woes

Jonas Blixt hopes this is the weekend he starts to put things together after taking the halfway lead at the Charles Schwab Challenge. The Swede added a 64 to his opening 67 to move to nine-under in Texas, a shot clear of Kevin Na and overnight leader Tony Finau.

Jordan Spieth, Jim Furyk and Englishman Tyrell Hatton also feature on a packed leaderboard at Colonial and it looks set to be a thrilling closing couple of days. Blixt has had a decent season without pulling up any trees, his best finish being a tie for 15th at the Genesis Open, but is hopeful this is the weekend when things finally come together.

“I think I’ve played pretty good this year,” Blixt said. “Obviously not had the good finishes yet, but it’s been up there a bunch of times. If you slow down a little bit people are going to pass you. That’s pretty much what I’ve been looking for – a good weekend.” He added: “I feel like I’ve been trending for a while. Just need to have a good weekend.”
