Bolton Confirmed For Challenge Cup Semis

The Rugby Football League (RFL) has confirmed this year’s Challenge Cup triple-header will take place at Bolton Wanderers’ home again.

The University of Bolton Stadium will host both men’s semi-finals and the women’s final on the same day – July 27 – despite Bolton Wanderers entering administration earlier this month.

The RFL says Bolton’s administrators have reassured them the stadium can stage the event over the same day after its successful hosting last year, when over 26,000 fans attended the semi-finals. “We are delighted that they have given us the assurances we needed,” RFL chief commercial officer Mark Foster said. “Since the club went into administration we have had a number of conversations with the administrators now running the club and the stadium in Bolton.

“Adding the Coral Women’s Challenge Cup final to create a triple-header should make this an even more attractive occasion for all rugby league supporters, as well as fans of the six teams involved.”
