Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci has praised the attributes that team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo and Mario Mandzukic bring to the side. The Bianconeri continued their unbeaten start to the Serie A season on Saturday, with the Portuguese and the Croatian both getting on the scoresheet in a 2-0 win over SPAL.
Ronaldo was the club’s record signing in the summer and after a tepid start, seems to be finding his feet.
His colleague Mandzukic captained the team in the absence of Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Sami Khedira, with Massimiliano Allegri choosing to rotate ahead of the midweek Champions League visit of Valencia.
Bonucci was amongst the regulars to start against I Biancazzurri and admitted the club have two real assets in Saturday’s strike duo.
He told Sky Sport Italia: “Juve signed a great player in Cristiano Ronaldo, he’s the best in the world and a remarkable professional. “This was the first game with Mandzukic wearing the captain’s armband and he celebrated it with a goal. “Mario has charisma and character, he pushes everyone along. I am happy for him.”
