Brady Happy To Be Back Playing

Robbie Brady says he was delighted to get some minutes under his belt in Friday’s 2-0 defeat at Everton.

Republic of Ireland international Brady was handed his first start since mid-December in the defeat at Goodison Park and he almost got an assist in the match after Ashley Barnes finished off the winger’s cross, but the offside flag rightly went up.

The result may not have gone the way of the Clarets but the 27-year-old was happy to finally get some good playing time under his belt, having been left frustrated by injuries for much of this season.

“I haven’t had as much football as I would have liked over the last few weeks or months,” Brady told reporters. “I did enjoy that.

I’ve been desperate to play for weeks on end now so it was good to get back out there and get a run out. “Although the result wasn’t the one we wanted, I enjoyed getting back out there and playing.

I felt good. I’ve been training every day. I was a little bit tired towards the end because it was my first game in a couple of months so it was always going to be difficult. “Hopefully I can play a few more minutes before the end of the season.”
