Bravo Hopes For Return

Bravo Hopes For Return

Manchester City goalkeeping understudy Claudio Bravo is refusing to rule out making an appearance again before the end of the season. The Chile international ruptured his Achilles tendon on the eve of the campaign and visited City training on Monday, giving hope he is nearing the final stages of his recovery. Bravo still has plenty of work ahead of him and City’s doctors are refusing to put a timeline on when the 35-year-old will be able to make a return.
The South American, though, has told Pep Guardiola and his team-mates that he is happy with how things are now progressing, having continued his rehab back in his homeland and over in Spain.
Bravo joined from Barcelona for £15.8m in 2016, but a series of costly mistakes resulted in the Citizens buying Brazil international Ederson for £34m just 12 months later.
However, he proved to be the hero last term in two penalty shoot-outs, on the way to the Manchester giants landing the Carabao Cup. There are reports the veteran could seek a move away from the Etihad this summer, although his primary focus at the moment is to get back playing and be able to prove his overall fitness.
