Brighton are said to be weighing up a £10million bid for Callum McGregor who reportedly looks set to move on from Celtic in January.
The Hoops have made a stuttering start to their season, missing out on a spot in the Champions League, while they find themselves fifth in the Scottish Premiership, six points behind early pace-setters Hearts.
The Bhoys’ struggles have reportedly left McGregor considering his options and eyeing a switch south of the border, prompting the Seagulls to step up their interest.
The Amex Stadium outfit have been monitoring the Scotland international for some time and are now understood to be ready to test Celtic’s resolve by offering £10million for McGregor’s signature.
Despite spending nearly £70million on new signings during the summer, boss Chris Hughton is set to be handed further funds to improve his squad in January, with McGregor likely to be one of his top targets as he looks to add to his attacking options.
