Brighton winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh hopes the injury he sustained in the defeat to Everton on Saturday is “nothing serious”. Jahanbakhsh was forced off in the closing stages of the 3-1 loss at Goodison Park with what appeared to be a hamstring problem.
It would be a blow for the 25-year-old if he was forced to sit out for any period of time as Jahanbakhsh feels he is starting to acclimatize to life in the Premier League after his summer arrival from AZ Alkmaar, and the Iranian has moved to play down concerns regarding the severity of the injury.
“Hopefully what happened to my leg is nothing serious and hopefully I can make more minutes,” he said, as reported by the Brighton and Hove Independent. “It was my fourth start for the team, but I’m still getting used to things in every single game.
“I knew it was going to be difficult to start with. “It’s a different competition and there’s more pace to it. I have to get used to it and that’s all that matters. Of course I expect more from myself. Hopefully with more games I can perform better for this club.”
