Briscoe Set To See Specialist

Leeds Rhinos wing Tom Briscoe is set to visit a specialist to discover the extent of a knee injury suffered at Huddersfield on Friday. The 29-year-old was forced off late on in the 44-0 thrashing after scoring his 11th try of the season.

He has been an ever-present in the squad so far this season, only missing the Challenge Cup tie against Workington, but his season may be curtailed if the injury is as bad as first feared.

Despite his absence, Leeds still managed to crush their relegation rivals, as tries from Adam Cuthbertson, Ash Handley, Brad Dwyer, Liam Sutcliffe and Konrad Hurrell gave them the convincing win, though there is still concern for Briscoe.

A statement on the club’s official website said: “Briscoe has had scans on his injured knee following Friday’s win at Huddersfield. “He has an injury to his ACL but the club will wait for further advice from a specialist to confirm the extent of the injury. “The club will issue an update once the specialist has given their report.”
