McLaren CEO Zak Brown says he does not expect to see an upturn in results for his team during the remainder of the 2018 F1 season. It has been a tough campaign so far for McLaren as they have really struggled to develop a car to compete with their rivals.
Weekends to forget at the Belgian and Italian Grands Prix have seen McLaren’s woes increase and Brown says he does not expect the team to make any big improvements before the end of the year.
He said: “We’ll continue to push on this car but unfortunately we’ve produced an extremely poor racecar that is not that responsive to changes, which will tell you that inherently we don’t have a good racecar.
“I would expect, unfortunately, similar type of results – maybe a little more circuit-specific – over the balance of the year. I certainly wouldn’t expect any miracles.”
