Bull Backs Rondon Raid

Wolves legend Steve Bull says the club should push ahead with their pursuit of Salomon Rondon. The Venezuelan looks set to leave West Brom this summer after the Baggies failed to win promotion from the Championship, a campaign Rondon missed out on as he excelled on loan in the Premier League at Newcastle.

With the Magpies still to match his £16.5million release clause, Wolves are being credited with an interest as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to add an extra option alongside Raul Jimenez in the club’s attack. Bull, who scored 306 goals for Wolves after joining from West Brom in 1986, believes the 29-year-old would be a good man to have around at Molineux.

He told the Express & Star: “I think he would do well for Wolves. “I think he has been brilliant for Newcastle and for West Brom. He’s a very talented player who leads the line well and scores goals. It would not be a risk, for me. “He’s 29 so should be in his peak years, and he’s got a good record when it comes to injuries – he tends to always be fit.”
