Dan Burn is hoping he will get a chance to show his Premier League worth in the Brighton first-team this season. The towering central defender originally moved to The Amex from Wigan last summer, but he was immediately loaned back to the Championship club before returning to the Seagulls during the second half of the season.
The 27-year-old was limited to just three appearances following his return to the club, with all those outings coming in the FA Cup, as he was unable to force his way past Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk under former boss Chris Hughton.

However, Hughton has since left The Amex and Burn has featured regularly under new boss Graham Potter during pre-season, including as part of a back three as the Seagulls beat Valencia 2-1 in their final pre-season friendly on Friday.
The arrival of Adam Webster from Bristol City for a club-record fee may ultimately scupper Burn’s hopes of featuring regularly, but the former Fulham ace is hoping to get a chance to impress, starting with Saturday’s Premier League opener against Watford at Vicarage Road. “Before I joined I said I was coming in to back up the lads,” Burn told The Argus.
“But, I have always felt I had the ability to play in the Premier League and I just needed a chance. “I hope I have (done enough to start on Saturday). I know I’ve given absolutely everything I can to try and get myself in the plans. “Hopefully that’s enough if it’s not, then it’s not. Obviously we will have to wait and see what happens.”11 BUSINESS NUGGETS FROM SUPER EAGLES BRONZE MEDAL TRIUMPH. The content of this ebook will propel you above your competition. Buy NOW!!!
