Burnley winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson says there is no reason why the club can not get close to achieving the heights of last term.
The Clarets start to this season was a poor one and at one point they sank to the foot of the table after losing to Wolves as they struggled to fit in the Europa League matches.
Since their exit from that competition though things have turned around and a win at home to Huddersfield on Saturday could see them climb into the top half of the table.
Gudmundsson says he sees no reason why they cannot emulate last season’s seventh-placed finish or at least go close.
“We know it’s going to be tough to end up seventh again but I don’t see why we can’t be up there,” the 27-year-old told the Lancashire Telegraph.
“We’ll stick to what we know and how we play and hopefully we’ll get plenty of points.”
